This one is going to hurt and hit differently for most but I hope it helps us all. As I sit and think while strolling through all social media platforms, I wonder why everyone is so angry 😡, upset 😢, frustrated 😩, hesitant 😕, insecure 😔, in disbelief 🫢, or even worse offended by today’s youths. To condemned them is to condemn oneself!
How dare anyone born in the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s or 90’s consider themselves different from today’s youths? How can yall especially in America but mainly in BALTIMORE?
Let’s travel back in time shall we to see what we have created. The sixty babies had Woodstock and did as much coke as possible, while smoking as much weed (white boys) as they could get away with all while the grown ups were discussing their concerns with their children. Complaining and asking themselves where did they go wrong! HELLO!!!
What has changed? Nothing really.
Then those 70’s babies were born addicted to cocaine-sniffing parents and semi-alcoholics. Who then complain about their children and the youths the they hung with, in the hole in the wall clubs. Shall we talk about all the clubs, bars, we weren’t supposed to be at and miscellaneous activities we didn’t want to attend like church even though we went. Where you think hoing on Saturday and asking for forgiveness on Sunday comes from.
That shit isn’t new; that shit is repetitive. It’s learned from the stories before us and told to us or around us (because in those days children were seen not heard) reason pedophiles got away with all the inappropriate behavior conducted under mommy and daddy’s noses. I know I’m still living through it and no, that kind of trauma doesn’t go away. It haunts your soul, mind and body for eternity.
We watched the (dope) boys on dirt bike ride wheelies from one side of Baltimore to the other side. RIP NET, MAINE. WOO, WILL-WILL, LIL ARNOLD, MAN etc, while our parents complained about the noise and all the trouble and havoc it caused while holding up traffic. Same shit different day, different generation.
Have we forgotten all the genocide posters of our time pasted everywhere, or the callout to go inside and get low because someone was coming through to rip the neighborhood down. Lets talk about the territory beefs that still take place today from back in the day and still no one own any block. How about all the rapes that took place in schools, alley ways, backyards, playgrounds, house parties or in your own house.
Need we forget all the old heads drug dealers knocking up young pretty girls because we were chasing that bag as it is called today, but paper, moolah, Skrilla, in our day. Remember our music wasn’t any different then theirs except it isn’t sensor no more. ‘80s music was about sex, drugs, and money. How about that it hasn’t changed because it’s still about that? It was just in club form, “ YOU GOT TO USE WHAT YOU GOT TO GET WHAT YOU WANT” “PUSH IT” “DOING DA BUTT!” Bumping and grinding and freaking is today’s twerking.
Marijuana, weed, skunk, loud, hydro, is all the same just laced with different chemicals. You say you can’t form an addiction from weed but with all that it’s laced with you can. As you can see from the many people you have witnessed go from the munchies to full blown addiction; the proof is in the supplier. Yeah, yeah I know the debate is coming but ask yourself this, why is it that the government got involved if it’s just weed? The profit is in the addiction not the recreation. YOU CAN’T TRUST EVERYONE WHO SELLS YOU PRODUCT NOT EVEN THE GOVERNMENT, ESPECIALLY THE GOVERNMENT.
Police brutality isn’t new either, nothing is new everything is just repeating itself every generation that is birthed. ITS NOW TELEVISED FASTER AND FROM DIFFERENT ANGLES, PEOPLE, PERSPECTIVES, GENRES AND OUTLETS. MURDERS WILL ALWAYS BE MURDERS THAT COMES IN DIFFERENT SHAPES, SIZES, COLORS AND CAREERS!!!!
90’s babies learned from those before them who literally lost their will to be desensitized by their parents or others around them. See those 70’s and 80’s babies hit different because they done seen the bottom and top at the same damn time. They been through the dirt and lived to talk about it. Not like slavery or the continuous racism that plagues AMERIKKKA but hunger, poverty, unsupervised living, beatings, abuse, homelessness, crack, cocaine, heroin, molestation, fucked up education. Plus we weren’t allowed to have a voice or an opinion so we fought like hell to be seen, heard, and loved. When all that failed we came together to get it from one another. We learned how to grow and build with one another but still would fuck your up in the process. IT WAS A LEARNING CURVE.
Those 90’s were rough on everyone, children being birthed and the parents trying to raised them. The 90’s kids had video games and the start of their own identity. They were coming into technology and were learning differently than those before them; not smarter just different. They weren’t moving into self awareness and becoming defiant but had no idea who they were fuck being raised by until they learned the hard way. Of course we blamed technology but it was because we losing the reigns a little until they got out of hand then we showed them because that how we were taught. DON’T LET YOUR MOUTH WRITE YOU A CHECK YOUR ASS CAN’T AFFORD TO CASH!!! They undoubtedly learned FUCK AROUND AND FIND THE FUCK OUT!!!
We weren’t raising friends we were raising achievers but with manners and their own personalities. Hardest shit ever to do!!!! Periodt.
The 2000’s children where they fuck they come from and who changed the water? These little fuckers need ass whippings and fast but shit it’s too late. We allowed them too much freedom from the family life and those streets raised them. It is like a kick in the ass from time itself. The lack of respect and discipline, these children have is unacceptable.
This is what we get from all the stories ever told around children who shouldn’t have received none of them. All the stories that glorified our existence is now the children we are having problems with in today’s society. This is what I can’t understand though, if 80’s and 90’s men and women say if only someone had sat me down; then why aren’t they sitting them down?
If, us 70’s babies sit them down then yall want to fight but honestly, we don’t give a fuck! You can get exactly what they need while we’re give them a lesson in manners and respect. Cause clearly yall 80’s and 90’s babies didn’t get the memo the first time around but we have lessons to give for a life time.
So the village must come as a whole and cover us all as family. We can no longer standby and allow any generation to continue to fail. It sounds impossible but if we all apply knowledge, wisdom, experience, education, morals and values with principles to growth as a rebirth nation it will happen.
